I knew I made the following mistakes: At one point, I say Texas has 37 electors. This number is actually 34. I think when the complaint in Jones v. Bush was filed, it says there were 32 electors. It was a minor point. I didn't see much of a reason to change it.
Secondly, I say Cheney flew back to his ranch in Jackson, WY. I'm not sure there is much of a difference between Jackson and Jackson Hole, but it may technically be in Jackson Hole. I've seen it stated both ways.
Third, at one point toward the end of the movie, and it took my father to point this out to me, I slip and say that Dick Cheney was Secretary of State under Bush, Sr. Well, as pointed out elsewhere in the movie, he was Secretary of Defense. That was an error I missed, but one that should be corrected in subsequent versions of the movie.
FINALLY AND MOST IMPORTANTLY: Judge Fitzwater DID NOT hire George Prescott Bush mere months PRIOR to deciding the Jones v. Bush case. He hired Georgie P AFTER deciding the case. Thus, there's a bit less of a conflict of interest than I had been told there was by a UT Law grad who was present on campus at about that time. It turns out that Georgie P did not start law school until 2000, so he couldn't have interviewed with Fitzwater in 2000. He would have interviewed sometime later for his clerkship with the man who played a small role in making sure Dick Cheney became VP when arguably it should have been John Edwards.
I really wish people would actually post comments here, but thus far everyone feels a need to e-mail me directly. I didn't realize people were so shy. You can do it anonymously. I promise.
